Temporary Closure

I’m sad to share that OpenBarre will be closed beginning Tuesday, March 17th, until further notice. As Governor Hogan announced today, all fitness centers are required to close until otherwise directed, and we will be adhering to that policy.

We are actively working to provide online solutions and intend to have our first virtual class shared with clients by Wednesday, March 18th. We'll be sure to send an email as soon as the link for access is ready to be shared.

Options

At this time, we have two options for clients with unlimited packages on their accounts. If we don’t hear from you by Wednesday, 3/18, we will default to option 1.

  1. Your package will be frozen effective March 14th or the date of your most recent class with us, whichever is later. We will add the days missed to a new package for you when we reopen and you will be given the opportunity to use them then.
  2. You can choose to continue your unlimited package as scheduled and receive access to the online content we will be putting out for no additional charge, described below.

Online content

We plan to put out one class every other day for as long as we can. Some of these classes have been recorded in the studio, and others will be live-streamed from instructors’ homes. Unlimited clients who choose option two will receive links to these classes until their unlimited packages end or until we reopen, whichever comes first.

Others who want access to our virtual classes will have the option to purchase monthly online access for $15 per month, or can pay up front for a full year of classes for $150. When the studio reopens, our online access will include a total of three new classes per week.

If you have a ten-pack or other classes on your account, the expiration date will be automatically extended by the length of time we are closed.

If you are graduating and will be unable to use the remainder of your package you may transfer it to someone else. Please let us know if you make this choice.

We are hopeful that your families and ours will get through this together.

In the meantime, if you’re looking for ways to support local businesses you care about, we encourage you to use your time at home to write thoughtful reviews on Facebook, Google, and Yelp. If you’re reviewing a business that uses MindBody, you can go so far as to leave a five star review for every class you’ve taken or service you’ve booked. Find businesses you love on social media, and follow them to stay up to date and find out how you can support them.

Many businesses, ours included, have gift cards for sale as well. Any in-studio classes or packages you buy during this closure will have expiration dates revised to give you the full term of the original purchase upon our reopening. We will be continuing to pay instructors to provide virtual classes, so another great way to support our team is to join us online. We hope to see you again soon.

Wishing you health,
Lauren and the OpenBarre team
